Tokyo DisneySea 15th Anniversary 東京ディズニーシー１５周年

From April 15, 2016 to March 17, 2017, Tokyo DisneySea will be celebrating it's 15th anniversary!!! The celebration is to be called "The Year of Wishes". There will be two special shows, "Crystal Wishes Journey" at Mediterranean Harbour, and a new version of "Big Band Beat". Character costumes, and special merchandise will be covered with crystals!

Hotel Miracosta is also celebrating their 15th anniversary, with special decorations and menu items!

The most exciting thing about all of this is that I will be there to experience some of the magic! I have already been to the 40th anniversary of Disneyland, California, and the 30th anniversary of Tokyo Disneyland, so this will be a nice thing to keep up the tradition.

２０１６年４月１５日から２０１７年３月１７日まで東京ディズニーシーは１５周年「ザ・イヤー・オブ・ウィッシュ」です。スペシャルショーを二つがあります。メディテレーニアンハーバーで「クリスタル・ウィッシュ・ジャーニー」 があるでブロードウェイ・ミュージックシアターで「ビッグバンドベート」があります。キャラクタコスチュームとスペシャルグッズはクリスタルがあります。

ホテルミラコスタも１５周年です。スペシャルデコレーションとメニューがあります。

ザ・イヤー・オブ・ウィッシュに私と夫は東京ディズニーリゾートがいます。カリフォルニアのディズニーランドの４０周年と東京ディズニーランドの３０周年ももう行きました。

Meeting Minnie Mouse ミニーマウスに会いました。

When Luke and I went to Tokyo Disney Resort, we met a lot of characters. I have already shown you Pluto and Mickey Mouse. Now, I would like to show you Minnie! We met her in the Lost River Delta area of DisneySea.

I was wearing my Disneyland California 40th Anniversary jumper underneath my jacket, so I had to show Minnie. I think she liked it!

Disney UniBearsity Bears ディズニーUniBEARsityぬいぐるみ

Hello everyone!

I am here today to ask for your opinion! You see, when I go back to Tokyo Disney next year, I have decided that I want to buy a UniBEARsity bear! But, I am having a hard time deciding which one that I want.

For those of you who do not know, UniBEARsity bears are Disney plush toys that originated in Japan. In the story, Ludwig von Drake is a teacher at Disney University, and asks the students to design a school mascot. They all design and make a teddy bear each, which impresses von Drake (or, that is the story according to my ability to translate the video...)!

This video was a part of their introduction into the Disney Store line of merchandise, and since then, many different kinds of UniBEARsity bears have been released, and there are many different outfits that you can buy for them! I think that is one of the most exciting things about it for me!!! 

So, I am currently stuck on these two bears: 

 This is Pudding, Minnie's bear!                                This is Puffy, Daisy's bear!

これはミニーのクマがプリンです。　　　　　　これはデイジーのクマがパフィーです。

I think that they are both really cute. I am not basing this decision off of their outfits, as I can buy them the same outfits, as they are both the same size.

My Tokyo Disney Resort Plushies 私の東京ディズニーリゾートのめいぐるみ

Tokyo Disney Resort Sweets

While I was at Tokyo Disney Resort, I decided to buy some sweets, because I like sweet things, and I liked the tin and bag that they came in!

In Japan, as in many places in the world, it is customary to purchase souvenirs for friends, family and even co-workers when you go on a trip. In Japan, the easiest way to purchase a nice souvenir for people, that usually doesn't cost too much money (as you often have to buy a lot of them) is to buy a food that can only be bought where you visited. A local speciality.

So, food intended for souvenirs often comes in gorgeous packaging, and generally will state where it was purchased either on the label, or the packaging itself. So, my chocolate tin actually states where it is from on the front, and so did the tag on the Minnie bag (and the individual wrapping on the candies too)!

By the way, the Japanese word for souvenir is お土産　(omiyage). 
The お in the word is an honorific that is used in the Japanese language to demonstrate respect. You can see it at the beginning of many words!

お金　(okane) Money
お父さん (otousan) Father
お母さん (okaasan) Mother
お酒　(osake) Alcohol

So, don't forget to buy some お土産 for your friends and family when you go on holidays!!!
