My New Disney Corner 新しいディズニーコーナー。

As you may know, a few months ago, my husband and I moved to a new apartment. The apartment we live in now is much bigger than the old one, ...

My Disney Corner!

Hello there! I recently got a new shelf for my Disney Corner, as it was beginning to look a little cluttered... I took some photos to show a friend, and I thought that maybe I would share them here!

My Disney Corner- as much of it as I could fit in one photo!

In this shelf are all of my Disney POP Vinyls, miscellaneous figurines and other such things!

On my wall I have a Disney Princesses banner from my Disney Princess marathon, a Mickey Mouse flag from Disney on Ice, and my Mickey ears and crown that came free with the Disney on Ice program.

And underneath that are all of my Disney plushies. The ones on the wall are all from Tokyo Disney Resort, and most of the ones underneath were purchased at random intervals in Australia.

Do you have a place for all of your Disney merchandise? I would love to see some photos if you have any!!!

The Disney Appreciation Society at Macquarie University

I am very excited. I found out today that my uni has a new Disney Appreciation Society! I am very excited, and I decided to sign up.

It cost $1 for membership, and throughout the year they are going to host events and movie nights. I was told that March will be Cinderella themed (so, they will be watching the animated Cinderella, and then heading over to the movies to watch the new live action). And, it seems at some point there will also be a ball!

I am most excited for meeting lots of people who love Disney as much as me, and being able to talk to them about all things Disney!

Hopefully they will understand why Disney means so much to me.

So, if on the slim chance you are a Macquarie University student reading this, then you should check them out!!!

My Tokyo Disney Resort Plushies 私の東京ディズニーリゾートのめいぐるみ

Today I thought that I would show you a video of all of the Disney plushies that I bought at Tokyo Disney Resort in February 2014 (ah, this time last year I was in Japan having a good time...)

Back to Uni

Well, I am back to uni this week. I am not really looking forward to it, because I have had a serious issue pop up with one of my courses, and I was hoping to have it sorted out by now, but the uni organisation that was supposed to help me is not very well organised (and that is putting it nicely), so I don't even have an appointment with them until tomorrow (which is the first day of semester). So, regardless of the outcome, I will be missing classes, and this is all creating a bit of a bad taste in my mouth for the class that I do have sorted...

Anyway, since I am going back to class, and I have been really stressed, my mum bought me a present:

This backpack is pretty cool. It has a cute design, with my favourite characters from Frozen on it (and a hidden Triforce, for you Legend of Zelda Fans out there).

It has the main pocket, a front pocket, a side pocket, and a side net for putting a water bottle. So, at least in the backpack department, I am all ready for uni.

The Shopping Surprise of a Lifetime!

You may have already seen this, as it has been all over social media today, but I wanted to share it anyway!

Imagine walking through your local shopping centre, like you would any other normal day. But, there is something decidedly not normal happening. What would you do if you saw your favourite Disney character while out grocery shopping, or spending time with friends?

Now, if only they would visit us here in Australia!

Disney at Daiso

I am sure that many of you know about the shop, Daiso. It is a Japanese shop, and in Australia at least, everything that you buy there is $2.80 (though sometimes they have special deals, like buying 4 greeting cards for that price).

I was quite excited recently, when I went to browse in my local Daiso. As it turns out, Daiso now has a Disney range. That is both amazing and a little dangerous for my wallet...

I know that the photo may not be very clear, so I will tell you what everything is!

On the very left is a Minnie Mouse laundry net. So, you can put your delicates inside to keep them safe in the washing machine. It has little Minnie head silhouettes all over it, as well as polka dots.

Next to that is a Mickey Mouse mini dustpan and broom. It should be good for cleaning my desk after my cat has finished sleeping on it, and also for keeping my Disney Corner nice and dust free.

Next to that, at the front, is a Minnie Mouse scrunchy. I really like hair accessories. I am not a jewellery wearer, but show me a new cute hair tie, or hair clip, and I will get really excited.

Behind both of those things is my Mickey Mouse fan. It is much like one of those unfoldable paper fans, only it is made of plastic, so if it gets wet, it will not get damaged. It is much more durable.

At the back is a Minnie Mouse bag. It should be pretty handy for shopping. It is made of a plastic material, rather than canvas.

To the right of the bag there is an insulated lunch bag, so that when I am out and about for the day and want to take lunch, I don't have to worry about it going bad!

And behind that, is a matching leisure sheet. That may be a little confusing for English speakers, so I will explain. A leisure sheet is a fold out mat, made out of a thick plastic, that Japanese people use when reserving space for themselves, or when they need to sit on the ground (many people used them at Disneyland to sit on while waiting for the parade). It serves a similar function as a picnic blanket.

Oh, and if you are wondering about that Mickey butt underneath the lunch bag, that is my pencil case that I bought at the Disney Store in Ikebukuro. I just needed to prop up the lunch bag for the photo : )

The Goofy Movie

I have been in a pretty bad mood lately. I have had a lot going on that has been getting to me. But, one thing that always cheers me up is Disney.

Tonight, I decided to watch the Goofy movie again. I love Goofy very much, and ever since meeting Bill Farmer, I have loved Goofy even more!

This movie is a lot of fun, if you can get beyond the cheesy 90's music. Watching Goofy and Max navigating their relationship, and learning how to deal with each other, is quite interesting.

Sometimes I get annoyed with Max though. It takes him an awfully long time to realise that he has an amazing dad, that I am sure many people would really appreciate. And, who would trick their father in such a way, just for a concert?

Anyway, I really enjoy this movie. Goofy always manages to put a smile on my face, and there are plenty of Disney references to catch (look out for them in later entries in 'Scrump's Diszeption Sunday').

Do you like the Goofy movie?

Marie

I am sure that you all know who Marie is. In case you don't, she is the sassy, white kitten from Aristocats.

My Disney Friend, Michelle, loves Marie. She is her favourite Disney character. So I thought, as a gift, I would give her a painting.

I am pretty proud of how it turned out. I am not much of an artist. I have done pencil drawings before, but this was the first time that I inked a drawing, and the first time I watered down acrylic paint to paint it.

What do you think?

Disney Fact Friday

Did you know that Walt Disney actually rode through the model of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction on a wheelchair to get a better feel for what the final product would be like?
