Tokyo Disney Happiness on High 東京ディズニーハピネスオンハイ
Here is a Throwback Thursday video. In February 2014, my husband and I went to Tokyo. While there, we of course visited Tokyo Disney. It was during their Happiness Year, and there were special parades, decorations, food, and of course, fireworks. I filmed the Happiness on High fireworks show from where I was standing, just outside Mickey's Philharmagic. Here is the video.

The Problem With Reselling 転売の問題
We all want to proudly show off our Disney love to the world. One of the easiest ways to do that, of course, is to wear Disney clothing and apparel. In and out of the parks, you can't go past a nice pair of Mickey/Minnie ears to display your love.
It is no surprise then that the new rose gold Minnie Mouse ears flew off the shelves at Disneyland and Disney World, with Minnie lovers keen on owning a pair for themselves. Of course, as is always the case when something highly sought after is released, some people buy more than they need. They then sell it on, for more than they spent, to people who, for one reason or another, can't buy them at the parks themselves.
This is nothing new, nor is it limited only to Disney merchandise. However, it is very common with Disney, as it is loved the world over, and many people (myself included) don't have access to any parks without an international flight.
So, for people like me, people selling merchandise online is convenient. It allows us to buy items that we may never be able to access, especially if the items are never made available on the official Disney online stores. For example, the online Japanese Disney store does not currently ship outside of Japan. However, reselling becomes very problematic when the item sells out faster due to people buying it for the purpose of reselling. It makes buying the item that much more difficult for many people, who then buy it from the resellers, because they have no other options.
Aside from the item selling out faster, the other big problem with reselling is the inflated prices. People who resell generally do not do it just to make the item available to international buyers. They want to make a profit. So, they will buy the item, and then sell it online for much more than what the item is actually worth. And people will spend the money, because they want the item, thus reinforcing to these resellers that the item is profitable, and that they could make even more.
I want to again mention the rose gold Minnie Mouse ears. They were only recently released at Disneyland and Disney World, and sell in the parks for $24.95 American Dollars (AU$31.73). They sold out very fast, due to their popularity (and the resellers, of course), so now people are buying them online. The most expensive pair I found on the Australian eBay site cost $125 American Dollars (AU$159.86- then nearly $50 for shipping). So, they are being sold in some cases for $100 more than their retail value. Many of the ears I found on eBay were being sold for above AU$85. And people were buying them. For Australians, it is practically the only way to acquire items from the Disney Parks.
So, what do you think? Reselling has its positive aspects, as it makes merchandise available to people that it is otherwise unavailable to. On the other hand though, resellers often buy so much that they contribute to how quickly the item sells out, and then sells them for a lot more money than they are actually worth.

Disney Diamond Celebration Merchandise ディズニーダイヤモンドセレブレーショングッズ
In July last year, my friend Amy went to Disneyland in California while she was on her trip to Comic Con. And she spoiled me! In July, Disneyland was still celebrating their Diamond Celebration, and she was able to pick up some souvenirs for me, which I received yesterday, as we hadn't seen each other in a very long time. The mug is absolutely gorgeous, and the photos don't do it justice. And the Mickey plush is very cute, continuing my tradition of collecting special anniversary outfit characters!
七月に、私の友達のエイミーはアメリカに行きました。コミックコンとディズニーランドに行きました。昨日、六月から初めてエイミーに会って、ディズニーランドダイヤモンドセレブレーションからお土産をもらいました。マッグがとてもきれいだと思います。ミッキーぬいぐるみが特別な週年の服ぬいぐるみコレクションを追加できます！

Scrump's Dizception Sunday スクランプのディズニー内のディズニー日曜日
After a long break, we are back with Scrump's Dizception Sunday!!! Today, we are looking at one of Disney's more underappreciated animated movies, to find someone who definitely is not underappreciated.
If we take a look at the image above (which I found at findingmickey.com- specific link in the caption) from the Hunchback of Notre Dame, we will see someone very familiar. In fact, we see my favourite Disney Princess, Belle, from Beauty and the Beast.
This cameo is quite fun, as both Beauty and the Beast and the Hunchback of Notre Dame take place in France, though in different cities and different times.

Hello everyone! Did you know that Lilo loves Disney just as much as we do? It makes sense really. Disney stories are interesting, fun, romantic, and bring people together. Mickey's Birthday Adventure ミッキーのお誕生日アドベンチャー
Next month is Mickey Mouse's birthday!!! Can you believe it?
To celebrate, Mickey himself has decided to spend the time until then travelling around the world, and enjoying many different cultures. You can follow these adventures directly on Mickey's personal Facebook page.
So far, he has played basketball in Los Angeles, and learned a traditional dance in Kyoto, and the videos can be seen on his Facebook page. Are you hoping that he visits your home town as a part of his celebration? Even if I don't actually get to see him, I hope that he can enjoy the Sydney Opera House, or Harbour Bridge. It would be exciting for him to visit Australia, since we don't have a Disney Park, so that is a rare chance!

Tsum Tsum Halloween Event ツムツムハロウィンエベント
This past month, a Halloween event has been running in the Disney/LINE Tsum Tsum game (at least in Australia). It has been a lot of fun, and I was very excited to manage to finish the event!!! So, I thought I would make a post, showing you a bit about it.
今月、ディズニー・ＬＩＮＥのツムツムゲームでハロウィンエベントがあります。オーストラリアのバージョンについて話します。とても楽しかったと思って、エベントを終えました！だから、示すために、ポーストを書いたいです。
So, over this month, when you play a game, you can occasionally pop bubbles that allow you to collect candy. That candy goes inside a Jack-o-Lantern, and once it is full, you receive a reward, and move onto the next one. There was a wide variety of rewards, such as 'extra experience' tickets. I think the most exciting reward had to be the Rattle Bones Pluto Tsum Tsum though. By the end of the event. he is fully upgraded!
今月中、ゲームで遊ぶ時に特別なバブルをポップできます。このバブルから、お菓子をもらいます。ジャックオランタンにお菓子を入れます。ジャックオランタンがいっぱい時、賞与をもらって、次のジャックオランタンを始まります。色々な賞与があります。でも、一番好きな賞与がハロウィンプルートだと思います。エベント末までに、プルートが完全にアップグレードできます！
And of course, there are special Halloween Tsum Tsums avaliable in the shop, from the Premium Box. There is a special Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, available until the 31st of October. So far, I have only managed to get Minnie. Hopefully I will be able to get at least one more!

Hello everyone, and happy Easter! Did anybody else receive any Disney themed chocolate? My mum gave me an Elsa chocolate, rather than an Easter Bunny. And, she gave my husband a Storm Trooper one!

It Was Recently Hinamatsuri! 最近、ひな祭りでした！
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am still here, and I plan to continue working on this blog. I have had a very busy month, and now I am back at uni, and the workload for Advanced Japanese is pretty intense!
Recently in Japan, it was Hinamatsuri. Hinamatsuri is an annual festival, that takes place on the 3rd of March. This festival is dedicated to praying for the health and wellbeing of daughters in the family. To do this, from around the middle of February, families can display special dolls that sit on a special platform. These dolls and the platform represent the imperial palace and it's inhabitants. Even though the Hinamatsuri we know today didn't begin until the Edo period (1603-1868), the dolls wear Heian period (794-1185) kimono. After the festival, the dolls must be put away quickly, as it is said that leaving them out for too long can delay the marriage of your daughter.
These days though, you can buy many different modern doll sets, such as Hello Kitty, and even Disney! I prefer the more traditional looking dolls despite loving Disney, but they are still really cute!

Hong Kong Disneyland Souvenirs 香港ディズニーランドのお土産

Disney Chocolates ディズニーのチョコ
On Tuesday, I helped my mum set up a new fish tank for her pet goldfish (I used to work in a pet shop, and since I love animals so much, I remember a lot of what I learned there). As a thank you, my mum bought me these Disney chocolates!
I have had them once before. When I was on holidays with mum and my sister, I bought the Minnie Mouse tin when we stopped over at a lolly shop. They are quite yummy, though I think I am more excited about the tins than the chocolates : )
火曜日、母の魚のために、新しい水槽を作りました。私はペットショップで仕事をしましたし、動物が大好きだし、手伝いたかった。そして、母は私にこのディズニーチョコレートを買ってくれました！
ミニーのチョコを食べることがありました。休みに母と妹と一緒に旅行した時、のを買いました。とてもおいしかった。しかし、ティンを好みます。

New Disney Fan Magazines 新しいディズニーファン雑誌
I was recently able to purchase the most recent issues of Disney Fan! I got the January issue, and the February issue.
Usually I purchase these online, at YesAsia, but with the Australian dollar as it has been, it has actually been cheaper to buy them at Kinokuniya as I see them.
The January issue contains a vintage art calendar, but I probably won't use it. I already have my planner that I like to use (though I will need to import another one soon- look out for a post on my planners in the future).
I really enjoy reading these magazines. As my Japanese skill progresses, I find that I can read more and more, which is very exciting. And, since I love Disney so much, I truly want to be able to read them- it can be hard to stay motivated when you are studying another language.
Also, because Japan markets Disney towards young women, and not just children, these magazines are very interesting, and not too childish. If you ever get the chance, I think you should have a look at them!
最近、私は新しいディズニーファンを買えました。一月と二月号を買いました。
通常、オンラインショップのイエスアジアで雑誌を買います。でも、今オーストラリアのドラは弱いだから、きのくにやを買いました。
一月号の中にカレンダーがあります。使いません予定です。スケージェルをもう使っています。将来、私のスケージェルについて書くつもりです。
私の日本語が上手になるから、ディズニーファンを読みやすいになっています。ディズニーファンは子供らしくないので、読むのがとても楽しみます。

Hong Kong Disneyland 10th Anniversary 香港ディズニーランド１０周年
My friend Michelle is currently at Hong Kong Disneyland, enjoying their 10th anniversary. I would be lying if I said that I wasn't at least a little bit jealous.
She knows how much I love Disney, and so she has been sending me lots of really nice photos of park attractions, signs and of course merchandise. The following photos really stood out to me. This display exists for the 10th anniversary of the park, and it shows the characters in their special anniversary outfits.
I thought I would share the photos with you (and with Michelle's permission of course), so that you could see some of the magic that my friend has experienced!

My Happy Video 私のハッピービデオ
Whenever I am feeling a little bit sad about something, there is one video on YouTube that I like to watch. It cheers me up to see so many people loving a place that I love, and seeing characters that always make me feel like a kid again. It's 2016! ２０１６年です！
Hi everyone! I am sorry that I haven't posted in a long time, but I have been very busy over the past month! Christmas and the New Year can be very socially demanding!
Anyway, it is officially 2016! I have many hopes for this year. I hope to pass my third year of Japanese. I hope to take my second trip to Japan in October, for my third wedding anniversary. I hope to enter the Japanese Language Speech Contest again. And, I hope to make new friends!
What do you hope for 2016?

My Favourite Mickey Mouse Short 私の一番好きなミッキーマウスのショート
I am sure that you are aware that I love Mickey and all of his friends! Why else would I run a Disney blog? But, have I ever told you my favourite Mickey Mouse short?
It is called Mickey and the Seal. It was originally released in 1948. In this cartoon, Mickey visits the zoo for the day, and accidentally brings home a baby Seal! Of course, this makes Pluto angry!
Have you ever seen Mickey and the Seal? If you haven't, I suggest giving it a go some time!
